PPC? Why waste your money?
Ok. First of all, I should explain to everyone that I am fairly cheep. I can’t see the reason in paying an inflated price for something I can have for free. It makes no sense to do it for myself, so why mislead my clients into doing something that I would find wasteful.
I hear many comment’s from my prospective customers about Pay Per Click. Most of which suggest that some feel that this form of online advertising is a necessity to make their marketing work. This may be true for a few niche industries but certainly not for most, and a well structured campaign with the correct budget can waste money on a product that is far less than a well managed campaign.
As with SEO, a Pay Per Click campaign cannot be just set up and left, the
campaign must evolve, being tested, tweaked, and adapted to fight off the competition; and of course, maintain the lowest costs to you whilst bringing the highest return on your investment. A fair return is possible, but advertisers must be aware it takes a lot time to make sure the campaign is running well by testing adverts, keywords and landing pages consistently and constantly.
The problem is this. If you are running a store online, or selling something other than participation and outreach, yes, PPC can be something that can greatly influence your conversion. On the other hand, if you are simply trying to increase site traffic, then PPC is likely not a direction you’d want to take.
Many firms and companies are trying to pass PPC off as the sole way of producing strong marketing for the web. While turning a blind eye to “Natural” SEO, they convince their customers to shell out dollar after dollar on unneeded ads. I met a Dentist this past week who is spending $1000.00/month for a PPC campaign, and the firm that set it up is sending the ads to areas outside of his office reach. As of yet, he’s only received 3 customers from these ads. This ratio makes his PPC campaign completely overpriced for his situation.
Pay Per Click is not the solution for most SEO and SEM. Natural linking, network building, and inbound linking are generally the best way to bring in more clients. Most people now view the “pink box” of Google search as obvious spam. As pointed out by Vertical Leap, spammers and scammers are more likely to use these purchased ads, and most people are on to their game. Because of this reputation, the average person is now even less likely to follow your link back to your site. If they happen to, it will likely mean that you just paid for someone who is going to spam you contact form.
There are many, perfectly more effective methods of site traffic generation that we have perfected. We will be more than happy to share them with you and watch you site grow. Unlike the other sites in Naperville, we don’t charge $1000′s a month to have nothing to show for it. We use skilled SEO techniques, performed at fair prices, to propel our clients to a larger audience. Our record speaks for itself.
